Ed Muska is only the seventh man to serve as pastor of the Mt Calvary Union Church in its 100 year history. He accepted the call to the position in May of 2009 after having served nearly a year in the interim position and four years as youth and worship pastor prior to that.
Ed and his wife Kris [Ullrich], born March 7, 1965, a native of Belleville, NJ, were married January 2, 1988 and have been blessed with four children: Chris (Alex), born August, 1990; Joshua, born April, 1993; Kathrynne, born November, 1994; Benjamin, born June, 1996. The Muskas currently reside in Hi-Nella.
Born May 28th, 1962, Ed came to know the Lord in May 1969 at age six. He grew up in a Christian home and has been involved in some form of ministry nearly his entire life. He attended Northeastern Bible College and graduated in 1984 with a BA in Bible with emphasis in Pastoral Studies. He also attended Seminary of the East and Baptist Bible Seminary.
Kris came to know Christ at the Brookdale Baptist Church (Bloomfield, NJ) youth group as a teenager. Her strengths lie in service and hospitality, and she is involved heavily in all the church’s social and fellowship activities. Together they served in youth ministry at Evangel Baptist Church in Springfield, NJ from 1989 to 1995, where Ed was ordained by the Mid-Atlantic CBA (March 1994), and in Montoursville, PA at Community Baptist Church from 1995 to 1999. The worship pastor/choir director position at David’s Church in Millersburg, PA from 1999 to 2000 was next, and later they served in youth, music, children’s and adult ministries at grace Bible Church in Barrington, NJ from 2000 to 2004.
Ed’s strengths are in the areas of teaching/preaching as well as in administration and leadership. Having grown up in the Philadelphia area, he has remained loyal to his Eagles, Phillies, Flyers and Sixers. Loves and hobbies other than sports include reading, movies, music and the beach!
The Muskas are deeply involved in their Hi-Nella neighborhood where Kris serves on the town council and works closely with the Police and fire departments. Ed serves both the fire and police departments as chaplain, and the family hosts children’s events throughout the year.
